Hi everyone, welcome to my first blog post.

What inspired me to start this personal blog was a feeling of nostalgia. I was going through my old Facebook statuses from when Facebook first became popular around 2007-2008. People were really putting their hearts out back then. Reading my old statuses was so nostalgic, and I really missed that raw version of myself.

I realized that I missed that level of authenticity. I'm probably one of those people who is still figuring out who I am. I spent my 20s "finding myself," and while I did learn a bit about myself, I believe that growth continues with every age.

So, let me introduce myself. My name is Aduke (adopted Nigerian name, lol). I am in my early- ish 30s and live on the East Coast of the US. I love to travel, enjoy cocktails, different dishes, I am obsessed with skincare, like anything funny, fun, and exciting. I used to be the mama of a beautiful Yorkie, but he passed away about two years ago.

I love cocktails, and you'll definitely see an array of cocktails on this blog. I also have a cocktail Instagram called Shayoology

and a skincare Instagram called Beauty Klassroom.

Through this personal blog, I am on a journey to reconnect with myself. I don’t want to say I’m "finding my soul" because I believe I have an idea of who I am. I’ve met that person before – she was gritty, kind, and sure of herself. Sometimes life throws you curve balls, and you forget that you've met yourself before. This blog is about reconnecting with that version of myself.
